Putien (Ion Orchard) | Unique Chinese Restaurant [Singapore]

My visit to Putien was wonderful to say the least. Putien thrives on its unique take on Chinese food, a new experience for a first time customer.

We ordered the herbal chicken ($9.90 SGD) to start off the meal.

This chicken was slow-cooked in a plethora of herbs. This unique cooking style resulted in one of the most complex chicken dishes I ever experienced.

Next, we had the stir-fried yam ($13.50 SGD).

This sweet and savory dish was an absolute delight to taste. I bit through the crispy exterior to be welcomed by a sweet and soft inner deliciousness. The onions were an excellent compliment to the yams.

Lastly, for dessert we had the golden rice cakes ($7.90 SGD).

This dessert also had a crispy exterior. The glutinous rice cakes had a mildly sweet taste which was a great balance to the strong flavors experienced during the meal.

Putien definitely deserves its Michelin star. The restaurant brings its own flavors to the table prompting customers to come back for another visit.

Taste: 8.3/10
Atmosphere: relatively casual Chinese restaurant.
Service: 7.7/10
