Hoshino Coffee is a popular chain cafe in Tokyo. Since I grew up in Tokyo, it was comforting news to hear that there was a Hoshino Coffee in Singapore. Although I don’t usually write about chain stores, this is my exception.
Hoshino Coffee’s signature double stack hotcake is the fluffiest I have ever experienced. Different from pancakes, hotcakes are thicker and less dense. This results in a air-like texture that goes extremely well with butter.
I ordered a hot royal milk tea to go along with the hotcake. The bitterness of the tea really combats well with the maple syrup used for the hotcake. It also comes in a unique white cup.
If you are a pancake fan, I recommend you also try the hotcake. It just may surpass the taste of any pancake.
Atmosphere: Quiet cafe with decently private seats
